Were Still Here

We are still in Gold Canyon AZ,  Too busy to post.  I had to clean up my photography library.  My hard drive is filling up.  I was closing on on 30,000 pictures not counting video. which is on another hard drive of it's own.  I spent a few hours for a couple of days and deleted nearly 3,000 pictures.

Thought I would take a minute and post something.  My mom is complaining about the lack of post.
We are seeing a lot of flowers, trees and shrubs blooming.  This is getting the hummingbirds active.  There are several different species of hummingbirds in this part of the country.  None of which we see in Michigan.  I have some nice video clips of them and the video shows the brilliant color of the male birds.  For stills I am having trouble getting a shot that shows the color.  If they don't catch the light just right the feathers looks black.  But when they catch the light just right... the male birds are spectacular.  I'll keep trying until I get the shots I want.

This picture is what I think is a male Costa's Hummingbird.  Very similar to a Anna's Humming Bird, but if they catch the light the ID is much easier as the Anna's is a reddish magenta and the Costa's is more of a purple.in the side of the face.  We have seen both and I have video of them, but good stills have eluded me so far.

I think most of the problem is that they have been in shaded settings so far.  Stay tuned.
