Race Weekend
Well in Tucson, the Rodeo came to town while we were there. So it was off to our first rodeo. (tongue in cheek). In Phoenix NASACR came to town, so it's off to our first NASCAR race. On Friday we went to see practice and qualifying. We had pitt passes so we were all over the place. According to the FitBits we wear we walk over 8 miles that day.
Saturday we were back for more Sprint Cup practice and the Xfinity Race. We had a good time and it is pretty exciting to be at the track. When you stand right next to the track on the straight-a-way you really get a sense of how fast a car going 160 mph really is.
My biggest learning Friday was that a race track is not the place to be wearing hearing aids. We weren't there very long before we rented headsets. Not so much to listen to the drivers and the crew, but to deaden the sound of the cars.
We did't buy tickets for Sundays race, as were weren't sure how we would like it. I think we wish we had tickets for Sundays race as well. We watched it on TV back at the campground and the finish was very exciting. Less than a tenth of a second between 1 and 2.
I should mention that this weekend was Gloria's Christmas Gift from me. Before you ask, no I don't normally buy here power tolls for gifts. It was here request.
Thats my story and I am sticking to it. So pics from Friday and Saturday. Her fav driver is number 48, Jimmie Johnson in a Chevy, of course. Me...Dale Earnhardt Jr. also in a Chevy.
