Settling in to Gold Canyon

Tuesday we moved north and west to Gold Canyon just outside Apache Junction,AZ.
Out campground is a little more upscale than our other accommodations.  This one is BIG!  They have a room for just about any craft you can thing of and the wood shop has at least 3 lathes.  There is a softball filed that is fabulous.  The playing field is like a major league filed.  Electric scoreboard and all.  This morning on my walk I stopped to watch a few innings of a game between a team form this campground and one from a sister park just down the road.  The player were in uniform.
Yesterday we visited the Superstition Mountain Museum and the Goldfield Ghost Town.

In the pictures below you will see a white church and a barn.  They might look familiar to you if you watched TV Westerns and Western Movies, back in the day.  There used to be a movie set built here for filming all of these westerns.  It mostly burnt to the ground except for the church, the barn and the gallows.  They moved what was left to the museum.

The pictures are below, remember you can click on them to see larger versions.
