Settling In
We are in our new campground, the Lazy Days KOA in Tucson AZ. This has to be the nicest KOA we have ever been in. I'll say more about the campground in a later post.
The pictures below are from our 3 nights in Las Cruces NM. It's the end of the month so we (mostly Gloria) is mainly focused on the newsletter for the Straits Area Audubon Society, but we did get in a visit to a winery on Saturday and Sunday we took a drive up to Silver City. Silver City is an old mining town that has become an artist community compete with a college. The population is a pretty steady 10,000 people.
We walked the main streets in the historic district and went into a few of the galleries that were open on a Sunday. Had lunch in a local brewery. A very pleasant day. We could see the remnants of a recent snow fall around town.
One picture is from the winery, a fountain in the foreground and the 'Pipe Organ Mountains" in the back ground. I did shoot these mountains from the campground at sunset on Sunday night. ( and last year when we were here) I hope to process those tomorrow.
The other shots are from Silver City. Notice the height of the sidewalks. Not sure why they are so high above the streets.
