Great Birding Days
Monday and Tuesday and actually even this morning were great birding days for Gloria and I. Gloria got several "Life Birds". Birds that she had never seen before. I was able to photograph most of them for her, so she could positively ID them.
On Monday we were at our second Wold Birding Site in south Texas, Resaca de la Palma State Park.
Tuesday we were at Sabal Palm Audubon Sanctuary near Brownsville. While this morning we were back at the SPI Birding Center.
Below are some iPhone shots from Sabal Palm. It is right on the Rio Grande. There is in fact already a wall here along the border here. But it is not on the actual border but on the US side a couple hundred yards. The scary part was that to get to the Sabal Palm Sanctuary we drove through an opening in the wall. It felt like we were crossing into Mexico. Realize I said an opening, not a checkpoint. We were being watched though. Homeland security has a very heavy presence in this area.
In a few of the pictures you can see the Rio Grande River and Mexico on the other side.
I had typed out my opinion about "The Wall" but deleted it.

You rest easy knowing that Gloria is watching the border.
