Last day in RGV
Today was our last day in the Rio Grande Valley, we head out in the morning. Tucson Bound.
Today was our last birding day here. We picked up two new birds, a White Tailed Kite (pic below) and a Common Pauraque. I'll post some pictures of the Pauraque another time. I did get some shots of this nocturnal bird with its eye open. They sleep on the ground and are VERY well camouflaged.
The kite shots are not the greatest, but good enough to verify the ID
Besides the kite I have included two pictures of a Green Jay bathing. I like the effect the water had on it's crown. Looks like a died mohawk.
The last pictures was the sunset out side our site tonight.
