Update

Well it looks like we are getting on the weather roller coaster.  A cold front is moving in and our teams are going to be dropping.  The normal daytime temp for this area,in early February is 69 degrees.  We have been well above that, but tomorrow's forecasted high is 58.  With the wind here it's going to feel downright chilly.  But it's supposed to be full sun, so we'll take it.  Looks a lot better than what our house sitter is reporting from back home.

Today we did a two-for.  We drove off the island and went into Corpus Christi to the State Aquarium and to see the museum ship the USS Lexington.

The aquarium was less than thrilling, compared to others we have been to, it doesn't rate very highly with us.  But they are in the midst of a major expansion project.

The Lexington is a WWII era Aircraft Carrier.  We found this tour very interesting.  I'll try to get some pictures from both of these venues posted shortly.  Part of the Lexington tour was a 3D film on the shuttle space program and the future Mars program.  That alone was worth the price of admission.  The film was spectacular.  I would think it might be shown in some IMAX theaters or something like that.  We highly recommend it.
Two pictures today.  The little bird is a Yellow Rumpled Warbler, photographed in Padre Island National Seashore.  The headshot of the larger bird is a Golden Eagle.  It was photographed at the aquarium.  It is a rehabbed bird they have there.  Thats all I had time to process today.
