Wild Ride
Today we went for a test ride in a new Chevy Suburban. See the picture below.
It was a great ride. A Chevy Suburban is the big brother of a Chevy Tahoe. Our Tahoe was our all time favorite vehicles for bothGloria and I.
It was a great ride but it was only one way. They dropped us off at the 1/2 mile start point of the 1932 Bobsled track !
Below is our Chevy for the ride back......

What a ride it was. You are bumped and thrown around in the turns. Not really too bad until the last turn. You see you are approaching the end of the run and have one final turn. You come into that turn at 55 + MPH. The driver steers you into the banking wall and there is a very hard jolt as the sled contacts the wall and abruptly changes direction. The force is unbelievable.
Gloria is all banged up on her legs from hitting the side of the sled on the way down.
In the picture below you can see we are both outfitted with cameras on our helmets. We should be getting the video from these cameras in a few days. I plan to put them on dropbox and provide a link to them from this blog. So stay tuned.
I will close this post by saying we finished the day with a very calm (but cold) boat ride around Lake Placid and some flyfishing on the West Branch of the Ausable River.
The high temp for today was 50 degs. The temps for tonight are going to be in the 30's.
