We have run out of timezones
We have run out of timezones for the US mainland. We left Gila Bend a little early so that we could drive before the winds picked up in the late afternoon. Drive went well. The last hour was on a two lane across the Colorado Desert north of Joshua Tree National Park.
We are now set up in 29 Palms just outside one of the North entrances to the park.
Southern California is in a major wind event right now and fires are going to be a concern for the next few days. We are far enough east to be away from the more serious winds, but it is windy and colder here. Low 40's this morning.Highs of only 55 today. 60's later in the week.
We will be here a week exploring Joshua Tree National Park. That is unless the government shuts down this week end. If it does this will be the second time I was locked out of a National Park after spending money to be there for to photograph something only t have the government shut everything down.
