Bosque pics
Back to pictures from Bosque del Apache. While I was there I did a lot of birds in flight, which I think is one of the most challenging things a photographer can do. It is pretty tough to get everything right. There is a lot that goes into a shot of a moving bird. Cars and sports are a lot more predictable in terms of distance, light and where the movement will be. Birds don't file a flight plan. But by learning the subject one can increase the odds a bit.
Below are some BIF shots, first snow geese then Sandhill Cranes. The geese and the cranes are the Star players at Bosque. The cranes are a sequence of the same 3 birds coming into the ponds just before sunset. Be sure to click to enlarge for full impact.
