Sedona Update

Well..........we have been busy.  Plus the time zone is not helping us.  I am ready for bed by about 8:30 pm.  It gets dark before 7pm and sun up is about 6 am.  We are up early but can't seem to stay up very late.  The weather has been great.  70's and low 80's in the daytime with it cooling off to the 40's and 55 this morning.  Sleeping has not been an issue.

Yesterday we hiked in 3 parks.  Lots of birds for Gloria.  The fine sand dust has been an issue for optics, both in my camera and lenses and Gloria's binoculars.  So it was back to Sedona for the only camera shop we could find anywhere close by.  Sedona was much calmer on this trip.  Calm enough for Gloria to get some pictures as we drove through town.  The camera shop is in the "Up Town Area" and that is where most of the pictures were taken.
In one of the parks we hiked in, we encountered a person standing by his jeep ( see photo of jeep).  The trail we were on was off limits to wheeled devices, so we figured it might be a ranger.  No it wasn't a ranger.  The guy was doing rattlesnake research.  I figured it out as soon as I spotted the long tongues and the white sacks.  We chatted with him for awhile and he told us about all of the rattlesnakes he caught and tagged in the area we were hiking in.  He catches the snakes and puts a tag in some, others get a transponder.  If you zoom in on the jeep picture you can see the tag hanging form the mirror.  It says "snake".

The internet here at the campground is not very good.  The only time I can upload any pictures is in the early morning or late at night.  So I'll up load the pictures in the morning.

Today we went to Page Springs.  There is a fish hatchery there and they have hiking trails around the grounds.  We saw lots of birds here and I got a few goos pics.  There was also 3 wineries right nearby, so of course we stopped in for tastings.  WE liked the wine in one and came back with a couple of bottles.
