Lamplugh Glacier
As our ship turned around and eaded back out of Glacier bay we briefly turned into Johns Hopkins Inlet and approached the terminus of Lamplugh Glacier. Lamplugh is 8 miles long and is an arm from the Brady Icefield. In 2015 there was a massive landslide that deposited large quantities of rock on top of the glacier.
That might be why you can see such a pronounced line where the glacier melt water meets the ocean water of Glacier Bay. I took the first images as we approached the glacier I could see the distinct line formed by the glacier melt bumping up against the ocean water forming a leading line for my image.
I would like to have had more of the left side scene in the image, but I was on the port side deck and would have had the ship's bow in the shot.
