Golden Eagle
On our first day in port at Sitka we boarded a bus and took a short ride out to the Alaska Raptor center.
This is one first class rehab center for raptors. They have a large area for the birds to relearn or build up their flying skills after they get patched up. They have large open area for a few eagles that due to their injuries, will never fly again. That was the case with this Golden Eagle in the image.
