Galapagos Day 3 cont.

Continuing with day 3 in the Galapagos.  So today was the same drill,  up at sunrise, some coffee and a muffin and then in the panga (dingy) for our first landing of the day.  The previous days landings were all dry landings.  This was our first wet landing.  The panga would be beached, that is the bow would be run up on the beach and the rest of the dingy would still be in the water.  Sounds ok...but the beach was all a gravely volcanic rock and the slope was steep.  So even though the bow of the dingy was on the beach, just a foot or so back the water was waist deep.  Luckily the surf was calm.

Once on shore and after a scenic shot or two I turned my attention to a Galapagos hawk that was on the rail of a navigational aid near the beach. Then a sea lion or two. More to follow.
