Second Stop
Todays post is images from our second stop on our way to Mach Picchu, the village of Ollantaytambo. Tis village is a great example of the Spanish building their buildings by re-purposing stones from the Inca city which was on the same site once they conquered the Incas. In some cases they added adobe above a foundation of stone assembled by Inca. You can see evidence of this in some of the pictures.
You will also notice just outside the village the ruins of the Inca’s massive fortress. We will visit that fortress on our way back through here after our stay in Machu Picchu.
The little girl on a couple of the images sang for us.
The last images are of our train to Machu Picchu.
