Cusco

While in Cusco we visited Qorikancha. This was the site of a special temple built by the Incas.
When the Spanish came and conquered the Incas they tore much of the temple down and then built the Convent of Santo Domingo using the much of the walls of the Inca's Temple as a foundation and lower part of the wall of the convent.  Interestingly the church and convey were heavily damaged by an earth quake but the Inca built walls were unscathed.
