San Antonio Update

Well I haven’t posted in awhile ( not a lot of downtime yet) so I thought I would add a little info.  I’ll add more info and add lots of pictures later as time allows.
Our first full day in San Antonio was spent getting supplies, as we could not add any liquids to the RV inventory because of freezing temps.  One of the downsides of having a fifth wheel vs a motor coach.  We don’t have heat as we drive.  The only other event that day was a visit to the San Antonio Shoe Store and General store.  A pretty cool spot.  Lots of old cars and things I haven’t seen in a store for years.  Gloria was looking for sandals, but didn’t find any.  We also did a short hike on the Bike and Hike Trail.  It runs right along side our campground.  Saw lots of water birds in the river.

Day 2 we had lunch across the street at a local restaurant.  Authentic Mexican lunch for about $12 for the two of us.  We should have boned up on our Spanish before we left.  The city bus stops right at the campground.  We rode it downtown and spent the afternoon on the River Walk.

Day 3, today, we drove to the Northside and spent the whole day in the Botanical Gardens.  What a beautiful spot.  Lots of plants in bloom and tons of birds.  Loved it.  I fired off over 1100 pictures.  I hope to get a keeper or two out of that mess.

Ok, about the pictures posted here.  There were all manner of birds and waterfowl in the outdoor areas at the Botanical Gardens.  This  pair of ducks were indoors are yet to be identified.  They don’t seem to be in Gloria’s bird books.  In the other two pictures, you see the other side of Gloria.  She can be childish at times, but at other times… a real Angel.
