Cactus Bloom

 Yesterday afternoon I wanted to take my camera for a walk in a nearby garden park.  It's a great location.  Lot of plants year round and they attract wildlife.  My purpose was to dial in my auto focus settings after a firmware update for the camera plus I have a new lens to get accustom to.  So I only took the 500mm lens and off I went.  And what is the first thing I see that would be an interesting subject.  A cactus in bloom.  Totally unexpected.  We have been having a very mild winter, but his is pretty early to see these blooms.  

A 500 mm is way long a focal length for flower photography... but you use what whatever you brought.
