Prickly Pear

 A Santa Rita Prickly Pear Cactus in bloom.  This image was made at Tohono Chul in Northern Tucson AZ.  We have Santa Rita Prickly Pear in our yard, but they have not bloomed just yet.  We are at a slightly higher elevation than Tucson.  I should probably add that the Santa Rita variety have the pink color paddles and red flowers.  Other prickly pear have green paddles and yellow flowers.
