Cape Disappointment
Today I am posting an image that I struggling with. Actually I have several images of this scene from the same period. We were on a river cruise and docked in Astoria Oregon. Bussed over to Cape Disappointment and our first stop was at the beach with a view of the light house. Under these conditions you don't get to pick the time of day or much else about the conditions. It was mid morning and fog was still hanging around but in the process of burning off. The light was reflecting strongly off the water and there was not much color in anything. So I went straight to a black and white conversion.
This is still a work in progress. There is a lot of stuff going on in the shot. I am really struggling with what to include and what to exclude, what to highlight and what minimise. So here it is so far. I may submit this shot or one of the others to a photographer who does critiques and process submitted images and see what they might do with it...reject it most likely.
