Bears
Today's posting will be bears. On our workshop we would see 30 or more vehicles parked on the shoulder with cameras and spotting scopes at the ready. There were no bears to be seen, but based on some data from social media...a bear(s) were expected to make an appearance at some point and they were ready. Many of the grizzly bears in the Grand Tetons are tagged and there is a pretty good following of photographers, and others, who spend countless hours watching for and photographing them.
All during the workshop our leaders were monitoring a scanner and getting text from friends and other photographers regarding the sightings of bears, elk and moose. This is a BIG help when you are covering an area the size of GTNP and the surrounding national forest.
My images today are of (tagged) grizzly bear 1063 (AKA "Fritter") and her 3 cubs. The cubs are this years cubs.
