Several images of an American Bittern.  They winter here in Southern AZ. They have proven to be elusive for us, so this was a pleasant surprise to see this one in the open and in the morning light.  Images were all captured at the Sweetwater Preserve in Tucson. The water reclamation project doubles as a small park and has hiking trails around the ponds and wetlands.  It sure is a magnet for several species of both native and migratory birds.
