Meep Meep
There is a county park near our campground. Pima County is doing a great job of making a park out of a historic ranch. There is a nice size pond and a wetland and in the southwest when you find water .....you find wildlife. This park is starting to be a pretty good bird and wildflower location for us.
Just about a week ago we were there early, before breakfast and walking the trails. We spotted this Road Runner under a mesquite tree. I worked at getting closer but we were out in the open and a slow approach is the best I could do. I was stopping and taking a few shots and with each image I took I could see that it had something in its mouth. One shot I thought it was a mouse, the next shot I thought it was a lizard. Low and behold when I downloaded the images I discovered it had both a mouse and a lizard. I would love to know how it pulled off getting both at once.
