Today from our day at Merritt Island we feature the Roseate Spoonbill. A somewhat comical looking bird described as being the color of orange sorbet. In the United States they are typically only found in southern Florida and along the Gulf Coast in Texas and Louisiana.
Their large spoon shaped bill is used to sift food out of the water.
