Oystercatcher

Today we have a pair of Black Oystercatchers.  A new bird for me to photograph I believe. I seem to recall seeing them last summer while on our inside passage cruise.  But never this close for a pic.  They are pretty interesting bird and are seacoast specialist, found the entire west coast from Alaska to northern Baja.  The thick red/orange bill is for feeding on mollusk and other invertebrates.

This pair seem to be having an exchange of some type?
