Hanford
We knew our river cruise in the Pacific Northwest was going to be a whole lot about the Lewis and Clark expedition, as we were basically following their path as we cruised westward on the Snake and Columbia Rivers. But an early stop was at Richland Washington on the Columbia River.
In Richland we had the option of an excursion to Hanford to visit the Reach museum where we learned about the areas contribution to the Manhattan Project. The trailer in the pictures was at the Reach museum and was used by the workers who were there to be part of the work to produce plutonium for the Manhattan Project.
