What I have Been Up To
I have been kind of off the radar screen for awhile now. Thought I would do a quick post.
We have been traveling for the Holidays to visit family. We tied the trip east in with Tom's Christmas present. My gift was a photography workshop.
The workshop is hosted by the Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society. The title for the workshop is:
Lightroom: Crafting the Fine Digital Photograph with Tim Cooper.

We stated off with a 2 presentation on Thursday evening. This talk was on Tim's method for creating realistic HDR digital photographs. Cooper strives to create images using techniques that result in an image that shows detail through the entire image but maintains a sense of realism. So he avoids the "over done" approach that some others are doing.
Friday through Sunday we are going over Adobe Photoshop Lightroom software. We have been going over in in depth. It's a hands on workshop with each participant working on images provided by Tim.
The past 2 days have been great. Eight hours each day working in depth with the software. I have personally been using the software for eighteen months, but it is a very powerful bit of software and an awful lot to be learned. There have ben many "aha ! " moments for us.
I am confident that the speed at which I process my images will be greatly increased, once I put my new found knowledge to work.
Our classes are being held in a conference room in a very old stone building in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The only real negative has been trying to stay warm in the old building. As an example it was -3 degrees out this morning at 8:30 am when we arrived, it warmed up to 15 by the afternoon. The room is heated but the system struggles to keep it in the mid 60's.
Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, I sure hope the heat system can get caught up.
I'll try to snap an iPhone picture and post it at lunch break.
