Just an Update

Since we have come home from our recent trip to Upstate NY, it has rained every day but 2, counting today.

But all was not lost.  This week at our Photography Club meeting we had 2 pro photographers as our speakers for the meeting.  The photographers were Brad and Todd Reed, father and son from Ludington Mi.
Their talk was about the making of there award winning photo book  "Tuesdays in Michigan".
Here is the deal,  they went out and took pictures every Tuesday in 2012.  They were out all day and went to every corner of the state.  They trimmed the photos down to 1014 pictures and had a book printed with the pictures.  Their work was fabulous.  Gloria and I both loved the presentation.
They brought a lot of their larger prints with them and they will be on display in the Library for the next couple of weeks.  In particular I like the group of pictures showing the ice caves on the shore of Grand Island in Lake Superior.

On November 10th when they come to pick up their prints they will be hosting a photo workshop in the evening.  $50 for members and $60 for nonmembers.

Saturday night we went to the Opera House for a concert.  I don't have the names before me now, but the concert was "Storm"
What it was is, you have a large screen  and 3 guitar players on stage.  They play and sing original songs about shipwreck on the great lakes, while footage plays on the screen.  There was also a narator who talks about all of the shipwrecks.  They have done several documentaries for PBS.
It was a great show,  had goose bumps several times.  There was a lot of old movies from sailors, including some home movies from one of the sailors who went down with the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Thats it for recent stuff from Tom & Gloria.

Below is a picture of the maps I use for my profile on an RV forum I frequent.  It show the states and provences that we have been to with our camper.  I have been to a lot of the states that are not colored in, just haven't stayed there with the camper yet.
