Corvettes
As promised we are done with Bourbon Distilleries, today it's corvettes. Gloria ad I have passed by the National Corvette museum numerous times over the years but we were in too big a rush to get from point A to point B. This day was different. We were only going from Bardstown KY to Nashville TN so we had plenty of time for a stop. They had a parking lot for RV's so in we went.
It was pretty cool seeing all of the different generations of corvettes and special edition models. I especially enjoyed the "cut-aways" where you could see what made the cars tick under the bodies.
There was even a race car donated by Procter and Gamble. The car was modified by a group of P&G engineers as part of an engineering competition, which they won.
Also very interesting was the displays of the big sink hole that swallowed, I think 9, of the cars a few years ago. They displayed the damaged cars that were pulled out of the sink hole and showed the massive undertaking of filling the hole.
They also had a 50's style dinner for lunch. What more could you ask for in a pit stop on the interstate.
