It's Done !
Well it has been a very long drawn out process. We have been finishing our basement for a VERY LONG TIME !. But with the completion of this last project I think we can safely say we are done.
We have been saving wine corks for a long long time. We have thousands of them now. Thanks to our friends. The idea was to put the corks on a wall in the basement. Well a half wall.
Gloria has put countless hours into gluing the individual corks up on the wall. No easy task, because if the next time you open a bottle of wine, if you look closely at the cork you will notice the diameter is different from one end of the cork to the other. They are tampered. On top of that they are different diameters to start with. This present a challenge when you run the corks up a wall at a 45 degree angle. If you are not carful the lines will get wavy.
So Gloria has applied all of the corks. For my part I cut the end corks to a 45 degree angle for her. The rest was all Gloria. I think it looks great. Nice job Gloria. And a big thank you to all of our friends who donated corks.
