Dixie with ice !

We wanted to make it to a campground just south of Birmingham AL. But.... Just north of Birmingham we started to get rain with temps falling to 35 degrees. Forecast was for a wintery mix and icing conditions. So we got off the interstate and got a hotel room.

Had a leisurely breakfast and left around 9am once the weather had gone through and roads were good.

We are now in Navarre Florida. Temp is a cool 51 degrees. We will take it. Most are in winter coats but we are in spring attire.

Coming down we were on I75, I69,and I65. Most major cities have rough roads because of the beating they get from all of the traffic. From my prospective, the award for the worst stretch of roads goes to Nashville. Going through there on I65 was terrible. You could not miss the holes. They were everywhere. I lost count of how many cars were pulled over changing tires or worse. They was one every mile or so.
Our RV was pretty shacken up inside.

The best roads for a major city were in Montgomery Alabama. They had some rough spots, but no holes.
