Big Wally Has a BooBoo
Gloria has named my truck Wally.......I don't know why Wally ! I don't ask a lot of questions.
Any how yesterday afternoon I was making a squirrel run going south on US 23. I was behind a fairly new Jayco 5th wheel camper. There may have been a vehicle going in the other direction, I am not sure, but there were 2 bicyclers riding along the shoulder on my lane. All of a sudden bang ! then there was a major divot in the hood and a 20 inch crack in the windshield. I never saw it coming. I kept driving as I only had a mile or two to go to my squirrel drop off pint. Once I freed the passenger I looked at my hood and saw a long gouge and dent, right down to the metal. You can see the damage in the pics below. I don't know what hit the truck but I think the bikers were glad I was there with Wally.
This won't end up effecting our upcoming travel plans. I called our insurance company (Auto Owners ) and then this morning called Wheelers ( Chevy Dealer) and got on the body shop schedule.
Went in for an estimate this afternoon and they faxed it to the insurance company. The insurance company called by 4 pm and said the estimate looked goo and check would be in tomorrows mail.
Truck goes in Monday and we should have it back Tuesday late. $1046.00 for the repair and windshield. We leave Thursday.
I still don't know what hit the truck or where it came from, but was surprised it wasn't in the box of the truck. I may go for a bike ride along there, it is part of one of our routes. I might see something on the side of the road with a little white paint on it.
