Today's Shoot
We had rain this morning, so we did our classroom stuff in the morning and our show and tell ( pictures previously taken by students before coming to the workshop) after that. We went out to shoot at around 3pm. We photographed a small waterfall that was right off the road so we could get back to the cars if it started raining again. Then we went across the road to the beach on Lake Superior to photographed there for a time. 2 Pictures from those 2 shoots are below. The trick in both pictures was to light up the darker shaded areas with an off camera flash. That would be the cave behind the waterfall and the undercut in the large rocks on the beach.
The other shot was of the creek from the waterfall entering Lake Superior. I used an off camera flash there to brighten up the sand in the foreground.
Learning quite a bit.
