Different Birds

Lately we have been seeing different birds in our yard.  Last Saturday Gloria spotted a medium sized bird under the feeders.  It wasn't one she readily recognized.  A day later I got some pictures of it and Gloria was pretty sure she had ID'ed the bird as a Blue Grosbeak.  Blue Grosbeaks are not supposed to be in Michigan or any of the neighboring states.  The identification was confirmed by some experts.
The bird stayed around for 8 days.  On Saturday the 17th the Blue Grosbeak brought some of his cousins along for lunch.  We had 5 Pine Grosbeaks under the feeder.  While Pine Grosbeaks are common to northern Michigan, we had never seen one in our yard before.

Pictures are below.

Above is the Blue Grosbeak.  It is either  immature bird, not sure of the sex.  If it is a male wit won't develop the blue coloring until spring.

Below are the Pine Grosbeaks.  The red one is a male.
