A Mouse in the House ( RV )
While we were camping in Munising MI, our friends Al and Anna stopped by for a visit one evening. They were in a campsite site 2 over from us.
We were sitting in our camper talking about camping and the area when all of a sudden I spotted a mouse on the second step leading to the bedroom area. It ran in to the darkness and was lost.....for the time being. I got up and set a trap in the bedroom and a second one by the bottom of the stairs, in case they traveled in pairs.....or more.
We went on with our discussion and wouldn't you know it, just like a little kid the mouse felt left out and came down the stairs to join us. It was time for action.
Al said " do you have a fly swatter ". I went into the closet and came out with 2 of them. So Al worked at flushing the mouse out from behind furnature and any other small hiding spot. Now you need to get a good mental picture of me down on the floor on my knees with a flyswatter raised, poised for action and Al moving from couch to floor to behind chairs..........it must have been a site to behold. Fortunately for Al and I, neither Gloria and Anna aren't accustomed to shooting video. Otherwise could I see a viral youtube episode.
After about 10 mins of the cat and mouse game I finally swatted the critter. After Al and Anna went back to their camper I got to thinking about how the mouse had gotten in. Then it hit me....I think I forgot to close the little door over the power cord. The little critters could walk right up the cord and get into the basement area and then found a very slight opening along side the steps and right in.
The picture above will show the little door over the power cord. One picture with the door open and one showing how it is supposed to me when you are camping in the wilderness with wild creatures everywhere.
